Happy Thanksgiving from Bharat Bazar
As you and your friends & family bring in the holidays, we at Bharat Bazar want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. Like many immigrants to this country, the holiday was initially stranger to us and today it's just as a part of our lives as Diwali and New Years.
Today we wanted to share some great recipe ideas that will take your Thanksgiving meal to the next level.
Many of us that are Indian have been exposed to vibrant, spicy and rich flavors since we were young. This is a good and bad thing.
It's good because we are fortunate to eat so many amazing dishes. Whether it's the creamy and spicy texture of chana masala or the cooling taste of raita - we are lucky to say the least.
It's bad because our taste buds have been exposed to so much deliciousness that it's hard to eat the simple flavors of a traditional Thanksgiving.
But we've made a great compromise. We hope these tasty ideas will spark some interest.
Tandoori Turkey - I'm sure you've heard of tandoori chicken. This is an excellent play on a dish that you can find at almost any indian restaurant. Check out the recipe here!

Sweet and sour tomato chutney - We like cranberry sauce as much as the next person, but this take on the classic rendition will make your taste buds giddy for delight. It's sweet but still as a nice amount of heat. For the recipe click here.
Scalloped potatoes with coconut milk and green chilies - Mashed potatoes and gravy is delicious, but they don't have the intensity that this dish contains. It has a little heat but is also creamy. It's great on the side of Turkey or as a main dish. Check out the recipe here.
Give these recipes a try and if you want to try more great Indian dishes, check out some that we created especially for you. All our spices and ingredients can be found at our Bharat Bazar Locations. Come on by!
